My name is Todd Kelsch and I hope to be elected to Augusta City Council in November. I grew up in Augusta and love my community. I never really thought I’d be running for a council seat until this year but life is crazy.

Life is crazy. But through my entire life, I have always loved my town. There’s no place like Augusta. We truly have something special here.

I believe I bring a very unique vision to our city’s government. And I believe diverse ideas are great for government.

I value our community’s families first and foremost. I will do my best to help improve and update the available recreational and entertainment functions offered in Augusta. Specifically, the reconstruction of the Augusta Pool should be of very high priority. Our families and our children must have affordable, safe and fun things available.

I will offer an understanding of marketing and promoting our town toward young adults and young families through today’s many social media platforms and new, updated advertising in print and radio. Tourism is the backbone for revenue in our town. And it is this revenue that we will need to improve and maintain infrastructure and aesthetic appeal. Augusta’s tourism department has always done an outstanding job promoting our town. However, I do not believe we are utilizing every available tool, which are often times free or at very little cost. I feel a marketing strategy focused on 21-45 year olds is past due. Our tourism department must progress.

I will always support our small businesses. We are lucky to have so many in our community. Every business, from Williams Street to Hamilton Avenue and from Riverside Drive to Heather Renee French Boulevard, matters. Each business offers something special to each citizen and every tourist. Helping these businesses reach their full potential is very important.

I ask for your vote for city council. Know that what you value most about living in Augusta matters. We all want our town to thrive and to succeed. Thanks for your support.
